The Marmox Insulation Board, one of Warmup’s top selling undertile insulation products, has been awarded the ‘Agrément Certificate’ from the British Board of Agrément (BBA).
The BBA is the UK’s major authority that offers approval of construction products, systems and installers. The Agrément Certificate is awarded to a product only after it has successfully passed a comprehensive assessment involving laboratory testing, on-site evaluations and inspections of production. The BBA first awarded Agrément Certificates in the UK in 1966.
The Marmox Insulation Board is a technically advanced board designed as the perfect complement to undertile heating. It is a water resistant insulated tile backer board made of extruded polystyrene, reinforced and covered on both sides with a fibreglass mesh embedded into a thin cement polymer mortar.
A number of key factors were considered during the certification assessment process. These included:
Performance in fire - the boards are classified as low risk in accordance with UK Building Regulations.
Impact resistance – the boards will resist the effects of the normal impacts expected in-service.
Floor loading - the boards are satisfactory for use in domestic and residential applications.
Condensation risk - the use of the boards will reduce the risk of condensation.
Durability - under normal conditions the boards will have a service life commensurate with the structure into which they are installed.
